UFE is a minimally invasive procedure that blocks blood flow to fibroids, causing them to shrink and die. It's done through a tiny puncture in your wrist or groin, with no major incisions needed. The procedure takes about 45 minutes, and most women go home the same day. UFE treats all fibroids at once and has a 90%+ success rate for symptom relief.

UFE can preserve fertility, and many women have successfully conceived after the procedure. However, if you're actively planning pregnancy in the near future, we may recommend alternative treatments like myomectomy or Acessa. We'll discuss your family planning goals during your consultation to recommend the best option.

Most women experience cramping and fatigue for the first 5-7 days, which we manage with pain medication. You can typically return to work within 7-10 days and resume full activities within 2 weeks. This is significantly faster than hysterectomy, which requires 6-8 weeks of recovery.

UFE preserves your uterus, has a much shorter recovery time, avoids major surgery, and effectively treats fibroid symptoms in over 90% of cases. Hysterectomy is permanent and requires removing your entire uterus, which may not be necessary for symptom relief. We believe women deserve options that don't require major surgery.

While UFE works for most women with fibroids, it's not the only option. We also offer Acessa, MR-guided focused ultrasound, myomectomy, and other treatments.
